2008 Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase

This past weekend Brad, our sales representative, and I, had the opportunity to volunteer at a couple of our associates Remodelers Showcase homes for the Fall Parade. It was a beautiful Fall weekend to be out touring these homes to get some ideas and information regarding upcoming remodeling projects.

The home that I helped staff was an Otogawa-Anschel Design + Build project. It was located in the Kenwood neighborhood of Minneapolis. The home featured several green building elements including, 100% remnant granite and marble countertops, a geothermal heating and cooling system, triple pane windows, and four 55 gallon rain barrels that provide water for plants and the grass. It was an absolutely stunning remodel, with the environment taking a top priority.

The home Brad staffed, was a 1934 home in Roseville, MN, remodeled by J.W. Williams Construction. The remodel featured a dream kitchen, including a 4′ x 6′ granite baking island and 10-seat granite peninsula, opening into an airy great room. Another beautiful remodel that is well suited for the homeowner’s family and entertaining needs.

Please see some photos of both project below.

Feel free to share…

Hello Angie, I need to thank for your expertise. My husband Daniel and I met you the Builders Luxury Home Show this past weekend at the Otagawaa Anshell home (I apologize if my spelling is not correct). We went thru 12 homes on Saturday and you took time to discuss Daniel’s granite concern. Angie, you are a true professional and your knowledge base is just outstanding. I was hesitant to blog, since I’ve never done this before, but Daniel and I both felt that we should share this story to other professionals at ParaMount. I’m sure you remember, but we have Uba Tuba granite and near our Delta faucet, we had a buildup of mildew, or a white substance of some sort. Every granite stone place we called, said that we should seal our countertops, seal, seal, and seal. And we did, but it never seemed to eliminate the white substance around our faucets. Was it mildew? Hard water stains? Maybe a drink mix of some sort? Last Saturday, you mentioned that we should use a razor blade at a slight angle to remove the substance. Angie, it worked! My husband Daniel is just flabbergasted. Our granite counters look amazing. It looks like they were just installed. I bet you spent 30 minutes with us on Saturday talking about the differences between a quality shop, and an inferior shop. I wish I would have used ParaMount. Thanks much Angie!

    Daniel & Roxy,
Thank you for reading my blog and for your nice comments. Oftentimes, people are mislead to believe that caring for granite countertops is much more difficult than it really is. I am glad this quick and easy fix did the job. Enjoy your granite countertops!
