Recipe: Sauerkraut Hotdish

Here’s a good, hearty dish to try that you most will most likely enjoy if you like German food. It is also easy to make.

Sauerkraut Hot dish

1 pound hamburger, or Jimmy Dean sausage
1 jar, or can sauerkraut
1 small onion (chopped)
1 can mushrooms
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 package shredded cheddar cheese
1 can fried onions

In frying pan, brown hamburger, or sausage. Add onion and mushrooms and any desired seasonings. Stir mixture until crumbly. Add the sauerkraut and cream of mushroom soup. Pour the mixture into a greased, glass casserole baking dish. Sprinkle the cheese over the top. Top with the can of fried onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and let set for approximately 10 minutes. Serve.

Enjoy!
