Good Things…
My first job out of college, I worked as a sales representative selling advertising for a company that owned several local newspapers in the Detroit area. I remember we started each week with a Monday morning meeting with the entire sales staff. Our sales manager began each meeting the same. He would mention five “Good Things” that happened to him the previous week, whether they were work related, or otherwise, and then would proceed with having all the sales reps do the same. At the time, I thought this exercise was a little “hokey,” but I realize now why he did it.
It so easy to get caught up in negativism, especially these days. Starting a sales meeting talking about “Good Things,” sets a tone and sparks positive energy and thoughts, something we all need, especially sales people.
Why not set the tone for your day with positive thoughts? I can easily come up with five “Good Things” that happened to me last week. How about you?
