Granite Countertops—Spotlight On Azul Iran
In this blog, I wanted to spotlight the color, Azul Iran, which is quarried in Spain.
Azul Iran Granite
Azul Iran is a beautiful color with a crystalline look that some say reminds them of icicles. Shades of blue, gray, black, cream and white are typically prevalent throughout the slabs. Azul Iran is one of those colors that contains large areas of quartz, that gives the stone a sense of depth. Mica can also be seem throughout, as well, which gives the stone some reflective qualities, which can be enhanced with halogen lighting,
Azul Iran would work great for a kitchen island, or countertops and would also make a beautiful bar top.
If you are interested in this color, or others, make sure you stop by our showroom.

Recipe: Spinach & Garbanzo Bean Salad
Here’s a good recipe to try. I had some at a deli that was really tasty, which I tried to duplicate. Following is the recipe I came up with. It is easy to make, healthy and quite tasty.
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 bag spinach
1-2 cloves garlic
1 red pepper chopped
1 can garbanzo beans
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 small container sun dried tomatoes
1 tsp. pesto sauce
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 container of feta cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup olive oil
4 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
In a skillet, add olive oil, spinach and garlic. Saute on medium heat. Add the peppers and tomatoes. Stir & add seasonings. Remove from heat and pour mixture in a bowl to let cool. Add the feta and Parmesan cheese. Stir in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Cool and serve alone, or with crackers, or garlic bread.

Granite Countertops—What Is Bookmarking?
In this blog, I wanted to talk about the bookmarking process. From time to time, we have customers that are interested in larger islands that can’t be made from just one slab of granite. When this occurs, we typically seam together 2 slabs from the same lot, (as they should pretty much look identical) and bookmark them, to match the flow. The bookmarking process, is used to align the slabs and match their characteristics, so they can be cut and matched together for seaming.
Let’s take a look at a few photos…

This photo shows the layout of a large island consisting of 2 pieces of granite, which will seam together at the middle of the sink.

This photo shows a close up of how the seam will look once it is installed. Notice the flow match from piece to piece.
