Golden Crystal Granite Installation…

In this blog, I wanted to share a few photos of some Golden Crystal granite countertops for a kitchen we recently fabricated and installed. Keep in mind that these pictures are from a job site, so they don’t show the finished project all decorated, but do show the stones characteristics. Golden Crystal is is a beautiful color with warm shades of gold, beige, and brown and is quarried in Brazil. Golden Crystal typically contains a gentle flowing pattern and may have some areas of quartz. It obviously looks great in a kitchen and would also look nice in a bathroom, or make a nice bar top, etc.

Let’s take a look…

Add Some Warmth To Your Bath With A Yellow River Granite Vanity Top!

In this blog, I wanted to take a look at a Yellow River vanity top that we recently fabricated and installed. I don’t know about you, but I love this color. It is so warm and cheery and will add a cozy feeling to any home. Yellow River typically has a gentle flowing pattern that moves throughout the stone. Notice how the pattern flows from one side to the other in this vanity top. Yellow River contains warm tones of gold, yellow, beige, brown and also contains some cream tones. It is also one of those stones that can contain large areas of quartz, which give the stone depth and an interesting appeal.

Let’s take a look at the project…

Granite Countertops—Spotlight On Magma Black

In this blog, I wanted to spotlight the color, Magma Black, which is quarried in Brazil.

Magma Black

Magma Black Granite

Magma Black is a beautiful black color with warm shades of gold, beige, cream and taupe. It typically has a gentle flowing pattern runs across the slabs. Large areas of quartz are prominent in this stone, giving it depth and character. Magma black would make a wonderful kitchen island or kitchen countertops. It would also make a pretty bar top, or fireplace surround.

If you are looking at doing some remodeling in your home that includes adding countertops and you like the color black, you should definitely take a look at this stone. It is one of my favorites!

Let’s take a look at our current stock…

Say Cheers With A Mesabi Black Bar Top!

In this blog, I wanted to showcase a few photos of a Mesabi Black granite bar top we fabricated and installed awhile back. Mesabi Black is a rich beautiful black color that is quarried in Ely, Minnesota. Mesabi Black is a striking color with areas of black and gray. This material looks under halogen lighting, as it enhances the material mica, which is found throughout the stone and gives it some reflectiveness.

Let’s take a look at some of the photos…

Recipe: Grilled Hawaiian Chicken with Coconut-Cilantro Rice

Here’s a recipe I came across on Pinterest. I actually haven’t made it yet, but it sounds really good to me. You can let me know your thoughts if you try it.

Grilled Hawaiian Chicken With Coconut Cilantro Rice

Chicken

6 chicken thighs
3/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup coconut milk (from a can, save the rest for the rice)
3 huge Tbs brown sugar
3 scallions, chopped
1/2 white onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp sesame oil

Rice:

1 cup jasmine or basmati rice
1 cup (remaining from the can) coconut milk
1/2 cup cilantro, plus more for garnish

Grilled broccoli on the side

Combine everything except the chicken in a large seal-able plastic bag, then dump the chicken in. Seal it up, swish it around. Stick it in the fridge for about 4 hours. Flip the chicken half-way through.

When you’re ready to grill, preheat the grill to medium. Add the chicken and grill until cooked through, maybe 6 minutes per side. Tent and let rest a couple of minutes.

Pour the coconut milk and another cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add the rice, cover, reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes, until the rice is cooked and fluffy. Stir in the cilantro before serving.

Enjoy!
