Add A Backsplash To Your Countertop To Create A Unique Look…

While there are a lot of options when it comes to adding a backsplash to your countertops, in this blog, I wanted to talk about a combination backsplash. What, you may ask, is a combination backsplash? Well—the word, combination, pretty much describes it because you are adding one with another.

Let’s take a look at this example below…

This photo shows a 3–1/2″ high granite backsplash combined with some multi-colored slate backsplash. Notice how adding a 3-1/2″ backsplash allows the look of the countertop to flow upward. By adding another material, such as the multi-colored slate here, another dimension is created with more color and gives the whole project a unique look.

Combination backsplashes are very popular and can be a achieved with a multitude of different material options and tile choices.

Add Some Prestige To Your Kitchen With A Precious Stone…

While we install granite countertops daily, as well as other natural stones and “quartz” products, it is not every day that we get to work with a precious stone. Precious stones are beautiful gemstones and are truly works of art. They are typically hand-assembled by experienced craftspeople to create a “precious” look, unlike any other countertop material. While these stones are gorgeous, keep in mind that they can be quite spendy and quite a bit more costly than granite, or some other types of natural stone.

Let’s take a look at a precious stone we recently fabricated and installed in the color, Amethyst…

Granite Countertops—Spotlight On Brown Antique

In this blog, I wanted to spotlight the color, Brown Antique, which is quarried in Angola.

Antique Brown 006

Brown Antique Granite

Brown Antique is a beautiful color, with warm shades of brown and taupe. Black and gray tones can also be found throughout most slabs. Brown Antique is one of those stones that contain large amounts of mica that give it some mirror-like qualities and add to its appeal. Large areas of  quartz are also prevalent throughout this stone.

Brown Antique would make a gorgeous bar top, kitchen island, or beautiful fireplace surround. If you like the color, brown, and are doing some remodeling, which includes adding a new countertop, make sure you take a look at this stone. It is definitely one of those “Wow” colors. Make sure you stop by our showroom today and have a look at this color and others.

Let’s take a look at our current stock…

Add An Elegant Look With A Bianco Ramano Granite Dining Room Table…

From time to time, we get asked to make custom granite furniture tops…and why not? Granite is both beautiful and durable and is also easy to maintain. Some consumers like to incorporate stone throughout their home and adding a stone furniture top can help do just that.

Let’s take a look at a granite dining room table we fabricated in the color, Bianco Ramano…

Crazy For Crazy Horse…

I don’t know if you are familiar with the color, Crazy Horse, but it seems to be getting a lot of hype lately, well at least around here.

While I spotlighted this color back in December of 2012, I wanted to focus on a kitchen project we did with O’Hana Construction last year. While we featured this kitchen in our Fall, 2013 Paramount Peeks newsletter, it was also featured in the Feburary 2014 edition of Mpls St Paul magazine and on a video on the Mpls St Paul website, which showcased not only the kitchen, but the home of actor, James Denton.

Congratulations to O‘Hana Construction for a job well done! Make sure you check out their Facebook page and website for more photos.
