Recipe: Tomato & Feta Salad
Here’s a tasty recipe I got from my sister in-law, which she served at a family gathering the other year. It is easy to make and very tasty.
Tomato and Feta Salad
6 to 8 ripe tomatoes, sliced
12 oz of Kraft crumbled feta cheese
Extra virgin olive oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Green stripe tomato, sliced
Place sliced tomatoes on a plate, add the crumbled feta cheese throughout, add the green stripe tomato for color, put about ¼ cup of olive oil on, then add the 1/3 cup of balsamic vinegar. Do not stir/toss nor put salt or pepper on it.
Note: The older the balsamic vinegar the better.
Enjoy!

Stone Sculptures…
When people think of granite and marble these days, they may think of countertops, memorials, or buildings. Stone sculptures, however, have been popular throughout the ages. Ancient Greeks were fascinated with marble and created both exquisite buildings and sculptures that included intricate carvings. Romans loved to work with granite and marble and used the stone to construct beautiful buildings and sculptures. While sculptures have been popular throughout history, today’s technology has definitely advanced the one time lengthy processes.
In this blog, I wanted to share a few photos of some stone sculptures I’ve seen on various trips and vacations. Let’s take a look…

Made To Order…
It sometimes surprises when I hear customers ask, “What is the difference between a fabricator and supplier?” While both suppliers and fabricators typically carry stone slabs, suppliers generally stock slabs for viewing for the general public only, and normally carry larger selections. Customers can make their selections at a supplier, but purchases typically are made through a fabricator, who then custom cuts the stone to the customers specifications and then installs your countertops. Generally, when you visit a reputable fabricator, you will be able to make a number of different choices for your countertops.
Following are some typical choices you can make for your countertops:
- Material—Choose the material that fits your needs, whether you are looking for a natural stone, engineered stone, or some other option.
- Color—Select a color from sample selections, slab stock, or partial stock selections that fits your taste. If the fabricator doesn’t have the color that you are looking for, they may direct you to a supplier in your area.
- Edges—Choose from a variety of edge profiles including: Eased, bevel, half bullnose, full bullnose, small ogee, large ogee, etc.
- Backsplash—Customers have a variety of choices when it comes to backsplash options. You can create the look you like. Some backsplash options include: 3-1/2″ high backsplash, full height backsplash, tile, or a combination.
- Finish—You may have the option to choose from a variety of finishes, depending on the color you choose. Finish options include: polished, honed, antique, leather, etc.
- Overhangs—While some overhangs are standard, you may have some options for overhangs on islands, or peninsulas, especially if there is some sort of seating area.
- Sinks—Some fabricators have access to a variety of sink options, and may stock a certain brand and carry a variety of styles. Make sure you ask about your sink options.
- Faucets—Some fabricators have access to a variety of faucet options, and may also stock a certain brand. Faucets come in array of styles, from basic to high-end. Make sure you let your fabricator know what you are looking for. They can often be a good information source.
